Anne Hanrahan Obituary
August 13, 1931 – September 28, 2025
Mom was a resident of North Vancouver for 20+ years and was loved by all who knew her for her wise and kind nature. She lived with quiet strength and purpose for 94 years, often choosing to place others before herself. Born in Cape Breton, the youngest of four, she began her career as a teacher, later trained as a nurse, practicing at Camp Hill hospital in Halifax and Shaughnessy hospital in Vancouver. She married George T. Hanrahan, to whom she was a devoted partner for 61 years. Together they raised seven children, moving often, but her steady words of encouragement and wisdom carried the family through many of life's challenges. Sadly, in her later years, she struggled with dementia, but she battled that affliction daily with remarkable endurance and strength. Annie will be remembered as a patient, understanding, and deeply caring Mom, and her resilience lives on in her children, 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She will be deeply missed.
Annie will be interred with her beloved husband George at St. John's Cemetery in Halifax as they both chose. Friends and family are invited to visit the Kearney Funeral Services website to sign the guest book: kearneyfs.com/obituaries/anne-hanrahan
