I met Barb while nursing at the Nanaimo Reg Gen Hospital. She drew you in with her warm kindness. Being new to BC from ON, she and her Dad often invited me to join them on Sunday drives around the island. A few of us nurses went to the Pleasant Valley Dances where I met Bill, my husband of 54 years. Our little group had many enjoyable adventures together in Nanaimo and Port Alberni where we settled. Barb loved my mother-in-law very much. Later Barb and Robin paid us a welcomed visit. We kept in touch over the years and always wished we lived closer to be able to visit in person. She will always remain in our hearts. Many thanks to her cousin, Bev for all her care of Barb in her declining years. God bless. June and Bill

Barb and I met in grade 7 at Hamilton Jr. High school...we were 13. Our years at Delbrook High School together.
Firm friends from the start, we shared family, and events over the years, at times celebrating our BDays together as she was 4 days older than me. She was much loved by me and my Mother, in North Vancouver. I remember her time in Nanaimo living with her dad; her time in Prince George; her graduation in LPNursing; her marriage and birth of her 2 boys. Barb always had the sweetest smile, and the lovely personality. I miss being on the phone with her so much.
RIP dear Barb, you earned it. Vicki Sharp-Victoria BC nee Eccles

Barbara was my long time friend ...we spent many times together nursing together at lions gate hospital.. to me she was this loving teddy bear with her arms open wide greeting everyone with an open smile, truly a gentle gem, never a disparaging word to anyone. I will miss her

I worked with Barb for many years as a messenger at LGH. She was a lovely woman, and a joy to work with! She was a smiling, happy employee, always helpful, and very accommodating, and was always able to elicit a smile or a giggle! I will miss her very much! RIP Barb.
