I knew Brendan from his volunteer work at the NVDPL Friends of the Library book sales. Brendan always had a smile for everyone and worked so incredibly hard. You'd have thought he was in his 30s, not his 80s! His kind and friendly presence will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Would never have thought last year would be Brendan's last visit to the UK.
Will always remember his love for life appreciating every day. His love of the arts particularly his visits to Covent Garden Opera House. Brendan also loved going to the local fete's buying numerous jars of homemade jam and remember enjoying a Pimms and homemade cake with him at Boxmoor Church fete. Summers will not be the same without our yearly visits from our lovely Uncle Bren Photo taken July 2017 Bren with sister Margaret

On behalf of Brendan“s family I would like to thank all of his friends neighbours and colleagues for looking after him and making his life in Vancouver so wonderful. We never had thought his visit last year was going to be his last. I shall always remember Brendan embracing life to the full. Appreciating every day. His love of opera and his support to the Boxmoor Church choir and enjoying a Pimms and homemade cake at the Church summer fete.
Summers will not be the same again without our yearly visits from our lovely Uncle Bren.

Brendan, a great lover of books. For many years Brendan would appear at Highlands United Church, North Vancouver to give a hand whenever there was a sale of books. Over the years we came to treasure his contribution given with such quiet and gentle grace. His warm smile would warm the cockles of the heart! We will miss you, Brendan. Thank you for your assistance over the years.

On behalf of the Friends of the North Vancouver District Public Library, I convey the deepest condolences to his family. Brendan was one of the dedicated volunteers of our legendary book sales, & he always helped in the setup of the event. He will be greatly missed.
