PAMPLIN, Donald John
July 19, 1932 - April 11, 2024

It is with great sadness the family of Donald John Pamplin announce his passing on April 11, 2024 at Lions Gate Hospital. He is survived by his wife Carroll of 69 years, son Todd and grandchildren Ashlyn, Chase and Levi, nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his son Greggory in 1978, two brothers and two sisters. Don joined the fire department in 1954 and had a wonderful 38 year career filling many positions and becoming Vancouver Fire Chief. Don also held the positions of President of the Canadian Fire Chiefs Association and Director of the Justice Institute for several years. He attended Broadway Church from 1954 serving in various capacities, enjoying the fellowship and working where needed. Golfing with friends was a real joy. In retirement he enjoyed watching the cruise ships, boats and planes from his patio. Thank you all staff on the 7th floor, your loving care and compassion for Don was wonderful. A Celebration of Don's life will be announced at a later date in Vancouver Sun and North Shore News.
