My condolences on the passing of Edwin Dunn. I remember him from when I was a little girl. Since there were no busses to bring students from Eagle and Blind Bay where he lived, the students had to room and board in Salmon Arm. My parents were lucky, as Ed came to live with us for a couple years till he graduated from grade 12. I remember he used to tease me. He would sit and talk with my Dad (Bill Hopkins) and describe things that would be in the future. I'm pretty sure Dad didn't always believe him, but so many things have proven to be....ie: He tried to explain to my father that in the future you wouldn't have to have a clutch in the vehicle to change gears. This was totally foreign to my non mechanical father...he was a butcher/livestock buyer, had a livestock trucking business....so it was cows he knew about not mechanical things. I just know, Mom and Dad were pleased to have him in our home. My parents, Margaret and Bill Hopkins, passed away in 2010 and 2013, I had researched and looked for Ed when Salmon Arm had a school reunion on Salmon Arm's 100th birthday as I was on the birthday committee. I don't think he was able to attend. my Husband and I moved back to Salmon Arm when my parents were having health issues, Regardless, my sympathies.
