MOORE, Erin Kate On Monday 21st December Michael and Elizabeth Moore's precious daughter and Cameron's beloved sister and best friend, Erin Kate, went to rest in the spectacular beauty of the Lion's Bay mountains. As a sea-to-sky child, she loved the outdoors! Erin came into the world under the sky on January 17th, 2007, in the hospital carpark in Cambridge, UK and left it under the same sky with the wind on her face. During the short seven years and eleven months of her life Erin packed in more than most adults. Her tenacity and endurance enabled her to climb to the top of the Stawamus Chief at the age of 3 ½ and she hiked mountains in Canada, Hong Kong, China, South Africa, USA, Mexico and Europe. Renowned for her eclectic dress style, Erin could transform a tea-towel into a tiara. She ventured out mid-winter in shorts and a t-shirt with red high-heeled shoes, would roller-skate in a frilly tutu or trampoline in a black evening dress. Wherever Erin went she grasped her ' Dada's' hand tightly, her hands calloused from her tireless antics on the monkey bars. Naturally athletic, she moved from room to room in a series of flamboyant cartwheels and she loved being on the West Van Yellow Stars Soccer team. She embraced learning French at Ecole Pauline Johnson with the same passion and enjoyment as she had for picking blackberries in her home town, Furry Creek. Her infectious laugh, joy and free spirit warmed all she met. We have all learnt so much from Erin about generosity, care and empathy for others. We will hold in our hearts her formidable independence, tenacity and her indomitable spirit. She was as tough as nails and sweet as candy - all in one package. Our lives have been profoundly enriched by her presence. The family invite you to wear bright coloured clothing and to bring any pictures of Erin that you may have. We will celebrate Erin's life and the rich memories of our feisty, joyful girl on Saturday, January 3rd, 3pm at the Mulgrave School, 2330 Cypress Bowl Lane, West Vancouver.
