Fiona Roye Obituary

Fiona Roye
April 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fiona Roye, much beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend She passed on April 29th, 2025, at the age of 78, following a brief hospitalization and short stay at North Shore Hospice. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends.

Emigrating to Canada from Jamaica in 1974, Fiona built a beautiful home and life for her sons in North Vancouver; at the same time, she built a strong and diverse community around herself. A banker with Scotiabank for over 30 years, she was loved and respected by her clients and dearly missed upon her retirement in 2005.

In 1998, she found a soul mate in her second husband, Chris; in their time together, they enjoyed frequent travel, good food, and more laughter than most can hope for in a lifetime.

Fiona will be remembered for her brilliant smile and rich laugh, for her kind heart and thoughtful disposition, for her charitable spirit, and her strong faith. She will be remembered for her warm hugs, her rice and peas, and her birthday serenades.

She will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her, and her memory will be a blessing.

She was predeceased by her son Harvey, and her brothers Bertram, Hector, Eddie and Neville. Fiona is survived by her husband Chris, her sisters Evelyn, Julia, and Jean, her son Mitch, and granddaughters Jessica and Rachelle, both of whom were by her side when she passed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 1 pm, at Westlynn Baptist Church in North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

Dear Chris,
Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
Fiona and me used to chat about our nails and new nail salons close by as well as Persian foods in our weekly coffee times at the social room.
She deeply will be missed. RIP

Fiona used to talk to my mother on occasions and every time, my mother enjoyed the conversation. Now they will talk more often and laugh together.
Chris, her husband and my cousin, will need all the strength to gradually accept her absence. I am sure he will (eventually). Chris, stay strong.
