Florence Gertrude Thomas

06/15/1931 - 06/13/2025

Florence passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, just two days shy of her 94th birthday. Her wish to die in the home that her late husband, Morton Thomas, built in 1962 was fulfilled, and we are very grateful. Born on a small farm in Cogmagun, Nova Scotia, at 20, she and Morton married and moved to North Vancouver, BC, where they raised a family. They later became a successful team as realtors until retirement. Florence loved flowers, and her home and garden were her pride and passion. She is mourned by her daughters, Carol and Eroca, and nieces, Brenda and Marilyn. She was predeceased by husband Morton Charles Thomas (2013), daughter Alyce Linda Thomas (2007), grandson Thomas Morton Thomas (2020), and all nine of her brothers and sisters.

Heartfelt thanks to Megan Kane of Home Sweet Home Care Inc., whose comforting presence, support, and gentle guidance on that last day were truly a blessing. We are so grateful for the extraordinary care Mom received during her last year from her devoted caregivers, who breathed new life into her world. She thrived with happiness and contentment until her natural death. Special thanks to Ben and his team with BC Emergency Services. He was so very attentive, kind, and caring to all of us. Florence had great faith and is now in God's loving care.
