Geordie PUTTONEN Obituary

PUTTONEN, Geordie Raymond Lansdell
January 3, 1984 - November 17, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden and tragic death of Geordie - son to Jane (Glenn), grandson to Pat, brother to Deanna (Johan), nephew to Cathy (Don) and Claire (Tony), close cousin to Kippy (Scott) and Serafina (Jeff), cousin to Kelly (Rachel), uncle to Luca, and father to Ally and Riley, the loves of his life. Also left behind to mourn him are numerous family members of his late father Ray.

Now somewhere else, we like to imagine Geord is reunited with loved ones lost - hugging his other mum Barbara, his grandpa John, and his dad Trapper Ray, and joking around with his beloved buddies Haywood and Junger.

Geordie was a kind-hearted, unique individual, relentlessly pursuing adventure and thrills inspired by the mountains and the natural world. His many passions included skiing, fishing, mountain biking, and, above all, being a father to his two daughters. He died in the outdoors doing what he loved with a buddy: some crazy-ass activity with no thought to his safety. His 9 lives sadly ran out when nature claimed him in the end. Born the Ft. Nelson New Year's Baby of 1984, he acquired his love of adventure and the bush with his Dad around the Liard River Valley in Northern BC. He spent most of his adult years in Squamish.

Geordie was an avid Canucks fan and hockey aficionado. He learned to play on home-made ice and perfected his skills by watching VHS tapes of Canucks' games over and over again. He and Glenn, a devoted Hawks fan, developed a friendly rivalry over the years and shared a passion for hockey cards.

Geord was proud to serve as a paramedic for most of his working life. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family.

RIP G, love you always.

Geordie, you were a true character and a fun paramedic to work with. I often joked with you that you were doing it all wrong...telling you you weren´t supposed to get injured on your days off! Loved keeping in touch and watching how proud you were of your girls. Rest easy young man and I hope now you´re having epic adventures without any injuries.

I worked with Geordie when he started as a paramedic in Fort Nelson 04/07

He had a aura about him and he quickly drew you in with his charisma and infectious smile

He loved the outdoors and sought its sanctuary every chance he could

His world revolved around his daughters and his father

When I see you again brother I´ll see you on the other side

Oh Geordie. I was with you on your final day, final moments...I just don´t have the words other than I love you. I wish we made different decisions. I´m broken my homie. Fak. We spoke about loving life and your daughters and I will hang on to that. I miss you.

Geordie will always hold a special place in my heart. He holds treasured childhood memories and we shared lots of laughs throughout the years. He was a great friend and always had awesome stories of his many adventures. He was always proud when he spoke of his beloved girls, and loved his family dearly.
I will miss him very much. Until we meet again my friend
