Ian BAILEY Obituary
BAILEY, Ian David May 19, 1940 - February 29, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce that Ian passed away at home on February 29th, 2016.He will be missed by his wife Marina, son Jeff (Sandra), many cherished friends and colleagues. Ian was born in Quebec but called BC his home. From an early age Ian was fascinated by machinery and mechanical pursuits. He loved engines, cars, boats, radios and planes. He made his career providing power generation to businesses in Canada and internationally. He particularly enjoyed working with boat builders and shipyards designing steering gear, power generation and air conditioning systems on yachts. Ian's vocation was boating, car restoration and flying with his buddies. His enthusiasm for projects carried throughout his life. His mentor ship, expertise and positive attitude earned him many lifelong friends. This was demonstrated with his thoughtful guidance which improved parking in Canada. Ian served as a director with Diamond Parking for 20 years. Most recently Ian joined Mountain Technologies earning the respect and the friendship of the team producing state of the art cable products. Ian was proud to be a 50 year member of RVYC and the Vancouver Club. He served as a board member of the Vintage Car Club of Canada and enjoyed participating in club activities, meeting members and sharing car stories. Ian's family profusely thank Dr's Nancy Crossen, Peter Queh, M E Hahn, the caring LGH staff, the dedication of the paramedics, firefighters, RCMP who went above and beyond the call of duty. Donations to Lions Gate Hospital will ensure continued excellent service to our community. Private committal is arranged at a later date.
