J. BAXTER Obituary

BAXTER, J. Doug March 30, 1946 - February 28, 2014 A sailor, an avid reader, an explorer, an athlete, a traveler - Doug was happiest on his boat. Doug rose to the challenge of a difficult last year of cancer surrounded by the loving support of his family and his many friends. The family extends its deepest appreciation to the doctors and staff at the BC Cancer Agency and the Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) Palliative and Emergency Room for their incredible expertise and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the LGH CT Scanner Fund is appreciated. A life full of achievement in both family and business, Doug never met a challenge he didn't relish taking on through study, action, and fortitude. Doug is survived and will be missed by his son, Jeremy (Sara Gillespie); his daughter, Christina Edmunds (Graham); his darling grandson, Curtis Edmunds; former wife, Elaine Baxter; sisters Pat and Lynn; and his dear companion, Nancy Farran. Fair winds, Bax. You are loved. A Celebration of Life will be held at RVYC on Saturday, March 8, at 14:00.
