Passed away at the age of 99 years.
She was the only child of Thomas and Catherine Ellis, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Charles Alward, second husband John van Zonneveld, stepdaughter Sandra Richmond, and stepson Quentin van Zonneveld. She is survived by stepdaughters Nefri Lyske (George) and Wendy Manahan, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, long life friends Donna Eden, and Dian Freeman.
After graduating from Pitman College, Kay worked at B/A Oil Company (Gulf Canada Limited) for 32 years. She was a member of the Vancouver Tennis Club, BC Women's Association, and Eagle Harbor Sailing Club. Kay liked to travel, going to the U.S.A., Scotland, England, and Holland. She also went on many boat cruises. She enjoyed camping and sailing.
Kay always had a smile and a twinkle in her eyes. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Inglewood Care Centre for the gracious care they gave 'Grandma Kay.'
