Kieran MACLEOD Obituary
Kieran passed peacefully in North Vancouver on January 6th, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
Born on April 26,1945 in Zambia, Africa to Donald and Ruth Macleod, Kieran spent his formative years in Southern Africa enjoying a expatriate upbringing.
The family returned to Canada in the 1963 first to New Westminster and later to North Vancouver where an 18 year old Kieran enrolled at UBC and began studies to pursue a career in accounting.
In the early 1970's after articling at some large downtown firms Kieran formed McCreadie Macleod with partner Brian McCreadie. Later he would form his own firm Kieran Macleod Chartered accountants with offices at various times on Mountain Highway, Lynn Valley and Queensbury.
Dad would find his greatest satisfaction in his family and the pursuits of his three sons. Raising his family and spending most of his adult life in North Vancouver, Kieran also enjoyed giving back to his community serving on the North Vancouver Recreation Commission for many years, as well as acting as treasurer for MacSween/ North Vancouver Soccer and performing similar duties for other community organizations.
While Kieran faced setbacks and challenges later in life he never lost his spirit and trademark stubborn streak. His enduring will to fight, to find a way to redemption and to have a twinkle in his eye when upset about life's little irritations are what his son's will cherish.
Kieran is survived by his sons, Mike, Ian and Colin and their spouses, their mother Moira, his three grand children and brother Graeme.
The family send it's sincerest thanks to the staff of Cedar Garden, Lynn Valley for their many years of care and assistance. We also wish to thank the staff at Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care and North Shore Hospice.
