Leonard V. Willey
NEWARK: A funeral service for Leonard V. Willey, 89, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Willey, a driver for Waste Management, passed away May 19, 2011, at the residence of his grandson Jerry (Katherine) Spears where he lived for 21years. He was born December 6, 1921, in Toboso, to the late Allen Elonzo and Olive (Howell) Willey. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
He is survived by his sons, Gene Willey of Heath and Jim Willey of Newark; step-daughter, Carolyn (Terry) Dowie of Newark; grandchildren, Ed (Tracy) Willey and Darren (Lori) Willey both of Heath, Jerry (Katherine) Spears of Newark, Michael Spears of Hilliard, and Debbie (Randy) Haynes of Heath; great-grandchildren, Domminque, Zack, Kyle, Alex, and Alyssa Willey all of Heath, Heather (Dustin) Futrell, Heath Spears, and Jennifer Spears all of Newark, Leigha (Shay) Hickman of Reynoldsburg, Aaron Wicklow and Andrea Wicklow both of Newark, Randy (Carrie) York and Cassie York both of Heath; seven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Willey; second wife, Ruby Mae (Sarchet) Willey; daughter, Linda Haynes; sister, Lucille Willey, and brothers, Clyde Willey, Noble Willey, Kenneth Willey and his twin brother, Mike Willey.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
