Marilyn Lowden Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Marilyn, who lost her courageous battle with cancer. She is survived and forever missed by her loving husband, Herb, with whom she shared over 44 years of her life, her daughters Amanda (Clayton) and Allison, granddaughters Isabella, Emma, and Kali, her sister Joyce (Grant), niece and nephews, as well as the extended Lowden family.

Marilyn was raised on Vancouver’s West Side and graduated from Kitsilano High School, where she created many life-long friendships. She worked for the provincial government in various positions for over 38 years, with her last position as a Liquor Inspector.

She loved to collect recipes and cook with her endless supply of kitchen appliances. She was happiest when lounging by her pool and entertaining family and friends. Her life was full and happy, but too short. She recently was acquainted with her half-siblings, whom she had longed to meet for many years. Marilyn was a generous and kind soul who would go out of her way to brighten someone’s day by doing something special. We will never forget her wit and her laughter. Our lives are forever touched by Marilyn.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Delta Hospital, home healthcare nurses and the chemo nurses at Surrey Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 15, from 1-4 pm, at the South Delta Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Delta Hospital.
