MARTIN, Marjorie Mairee
September 18, 1966 - June 30, 2024
Beloved daughter of Norris and Donna Martin and adored sister of Myshsael Schlyecher, Marjorie also leaves behind her much-loved nieces and their spouses and many friends both near and far including Glasgow where she spent seven of her happiest years furthering her career and completing an MBA. Marjorie had a rich career in Scotland and Vancouver applying her deep intellect and talents to human resources management across a wide spectrum of industries. She flourished in her work, where "Margie" earned the respect and gratitude of colleagues for her wisdom, insights and advice always delivered with kindness, humour, and a smile.
Many thanks to the care workers at the North Vancouver Hospice who were so kind and helpful during Marjorie's last days spent in a beautiful room brightened with a huge, yellow sunflower outside the window. We are so grateful to the many friends and family who came to spend precious hours with her - some spending the night at her bedside. One in particular who travelled from Scotland just to share in 30 years of happy remembrances, declaring 'best friends forever' before returning home.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held Thursday, July 25th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Capilano Golf and Country Club, 420 Southborough Drive, West Vancouver.
