It's been one year
How times flies by
We think of you often
And try not to cry
We met up in July
For some holiday fun
Your Memorial gleamed
In the Florida sun
We all said a prayer
When up in the sky
A big loud helicopter
Passed on by
We then looked up
Our faces a frown
But then we knew
You were looking down
Your children were there
What a pleasure to see
Callie's so pretty
Keegan's taller than me!
We know you live on
In a much better place
But we miss you dearly
Your smiling face
We pray you are happy
Enjoying all that you do
The angels are lucky
To have a friend like you
Love you Marko

Uncle Phil & Auntie Linda, so deeply shocked and saddened by your loss, I have not seen Mark since we were small but I am certain he is at peace now and whilst words can never ease your pain take comfort in the fact that he is looking down on you from heaven and when God wishes, you will be reunited with him for eternity. This life is cruel I know but Mark would want you to be strong and find happiness again. Please both look after each other and remember the beauty he brought you both but somehow try to find a way forward, he is guarded by angels now and I am sure he is with you both, just talk to him whenever you need to. Our prayers are with you, Lots of love from Jonathon (De-anna's son) and my wife Heather, and my children Jordan & Indyah xxx

What's up cuzzo? Been trying to make sense of all this these last couple of weeks but i've yet to figure it out. It just doesn't seem right! It feels like there was so much more for us to do as a family one day, and you were definitely a big part of it all. You were always someone who I looked up to, and I admired the many accomplishments that you achieved. You always treated me well and you never picked on me like big cousins and big brothers sometimes do. I never forgot those things and therfore I always just thought of you as one of the coolest people I've ever known! I love you Marko and I'm thankful for the time that we did have together in this world. Until we meet again, I promise to love your parents as if they were my own, and also to check on the kids and Bella to make sure they're doing well! Happy Birthday Marko!!! I miss you!!! Love, Justin

Marko, I am a friend of your Aunty Pam and your passing has touched me even though we never met. I knew you were special through Pam's love for you and all of your family but after having listened to her and feeling the sadness and pain she has expressed in your passing on to heaven, and reading all of the kind words in your obituary, I see that I truly missed out because I never had the chance to meet you. What a remarkable young man you have been in your life here on earth. Your spirit and love will never fade in the hearts of those who knew you. My prayers are for all you left behind, that God will give them comfort and peace, and I look forward to meeting you when God calls me home... Praise God for Whom all Blessings Flow!

Hey Marko: It is coming up two weeks now since you left us for a better place. It was so difficult to watch you slip away, but I am so grateful that God allowed me to be one of your family members holding your hand at your bedside. My heart is still heavy. I have talked to you every day during my 33 mile drive home from work. We have had some good conversations haven't we? As Aunty Jue said, your birth made us an "Aunty" for the first time. I hope we fullfilled our roles to your satisfaction; I am pretty sure we did. I know you were not 100 percent when we came down for vacation in July, but you made it fun anyway, and the kids had a ball. Kyleah fell in love with you instantly, because that is the affect you had on all children. I would give anything to see you play in the waves once again, but I know not here. Is there an ocean and a beach in heaven? Marko, watch over your Mom and Dad, Bella and the children, and your Nana and Grandad, and of course your special Aunties. Your cousins need some watching over too, and guidance if you can give that from up there! Aunty Anny, Aunty Jue, and of course me, will always keep you close in our hearts. I get off at about 5:15 p.m today, so I'll talk to you then. Love you always and forever. Aunty Pam (North Carolina).

Mark, thanks for being a good friend. It was fun getting to know you at USC. From the ski trip in Utah to the lights of Las Vegas, we had our share of great memories. It was a pleasure to spend time with you throughout college and a little afterwards. I enjoyed our conversions after we both had been saved. It is sad to see you leave, but only for the friends and family left behind. I know that you are singing the praises now and your spirit has never been higher. I look forward to the day of seeing you again. Thanks for the memories and you are missed.

Linda & Phil,
I am so saddened and sorry by the news of this loss. I had no idea and I cannot imagine how tough it would be to lose a son. He seems like a great guy and actually reminds me of my own offspring in the life he had, which I read this morning, as you shared the article. Thinking of you both during this difficult time....prayers are with you. Much love, Ashley Berg

Mark Orrill -
Quick wih a smille and fast with a joke
never one to pass up a smoke
We had a great time, oh what a ball
especially on Saturdays in the fall
We played the cards and rolled the dice
none did it better at Williams Bryce
The good times were plenty and many were spent
out in the sun under the ATO tent
We studied the lines and put aside the books
oh how we lost by those dreaded "hooks"
We declared our locks and bet on our hunches
we won a few and lost by the bunches
no matter though, we rolled with the punches
You shared your laughter and your "onie"
you never hesitated to spend Phil's money :)
So ride on now and watch from above
your cherished gamecocks with pride and love
For this is the season to remember
the 'Cocks as they dawn the crown in December
They say time goes by fast when you're having fun
tis true, 20+ years feels like one
So I bid you farwell and adieu
and hear these words I say to you
We had a blast from beginning til end
I am proud to call you, Mark Orrill, my friend
Rest in Peace....

Mark was an incredible source of positive energy for me. He was always genuinely interested in what was happening in my life and truly wanted nothing but the best for me. He was one of the funniest guys I ever met. I've never met anyone more giving and generous then Mark Orrill. He had a gift for connecting people. Once you became Mark's friend, he eagerly wanted to introduce you to the astonishingly long list of friends he had accumulated. Some of the best friends I have today I met through Mark Orrill. He only saw the good in us. He was very proud of his Mom, Dad, and Grandparents. I know they were always a source of strength for him. I learned a lot from Mark, things I will never forget. There was a lot more I hoped to have done with Marko in this life, but I must remind myself how lucky I am to have the memories and friendships because of him. I will miss him...

Mark, I remember so many things while we were growing up, but one especially stands out and that was the way you aways pulled your shirt sleeves down and held them with your thumbs. I hope the Lord will make sure your wings are long enough for you to hold them with your thumbs. May God hold and comfort your family.

Marko, it was a joy to watch God's transforming power at work within you while you were with us at The Way. You were a gift from God as a servant leader at critical times in The Way's history.
