Michael was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Yazoo City, Mississippi, with his adoptive parents, Bernard "Pat" and Bernice Price Fink, and his sister, Emily. He attended college at Tulane University and Loyola University dental school in New Orleans, LA. to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He was a member of the ZBT fraternity while there, and then completed an anesthesia residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. He moved to California during the 60's to practice oral surgery. He was well known and respected in the dental community and loved what he did. He retired after forty years of a successful practice, primarily in Cupertino, CA. Over the years he enjoyed playing golf, tennis, skiing, sailing and scuba diving. He loved listening to jazz, traveling, watching pro football and enjoying time with his family and friends.He was a bright man with a wonderful, dry sense of humor, an easy going style and a loyal friend. He is pre-deceased by his son, Michael and survived by his wife, Susan Knoff Fink and daughter, Katherine "Kaiti" Michelle Fink, who currently resides in New Orleans. A viewing from 10am-11am followed by a memorial service at 11am.will be held on Thursday, July 31st to celebrate his life, at the Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills on 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave. in Los Gatos. There will be a private internment @ Los Gatos Memorial Park. Attendees are invited to join the family @ Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos for a reception following the service.
