Nellie Rose Charles
Lafayette - Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 18, 2014; 12 Noon at Kinchen Funeral Home of Lafayette, LA for Nellie Rose Bernard. Interment will be held in Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum Fr. Peter will conduct the service.
Nellie Rose Bernard was born 01-21-54 to Joseph and Laura Bernard. She was employed at Lafayette General Medical for 8 years then she decided to stay home and take care of everyone until God called her home on 01-09-14. Nellie was known to everyone as Teeta. She loved to spend time in the kitchen and anyone that needed anything from a place to stay or a hot meal her door was open to anyone.
Cherishing her memories yet morurning her departure she leaved her husband Edward Charles of Lafayette; 4 sons Johnathan(Heather) Bernard of TX, Albert (Demetria) Mouton of Carenro, Brian (Charlette) Bernard, Kendrick (Devin Landry) Bernard, two daughters, Mona(Virgil) Solomon, Rachelle (Riley Dugas) Bernard of Lafayette, five brothers, John (Bertha) Bernard, John Ray Bernard, William (Kathy) Bernard all of Carencro, Anthony (Deena) Bernard of Parks, Lee Allen Zeno of Carencro, five sisters, Rosa Mary Bernard, Emelda Bernard, Shanet Bias Bernard, Sabrina Bernard, Joycelyn Bernard all of Lafayette and Sheila (Kenneth Wiltz) Bernard of Cecelia, 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, one godchild Anietra Woods.
She was preceded in death by one son Corey Bernard, her parents, Joseph and Laura Bernard, one brother, John Allen Zeno and grandchildren Kiara Mouton and Terrance Martin.
Visitation will be held from 7am until time of service at Kinchen Funeral Home Saturday January 18, 2014.
