Ollie MacLeod Obituary

Ollie MacLeod, affectionately known as "Granny" to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away on February 17, 2026, in West Vancouver, at the age of 92. Born March 3, 1933, Ollie was the steady center of a large, close family and a presence who will be deeply missed.

Ollie was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, Ray, and by her son Michael. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Matthew, Marshall, and Wendi, and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - each of whom she maintained wonderful, personal relationships with throughout her life.

Granny's home was the heart of family life. Located alongside Capilano Golf Course with a beautiful, large south-facing yard, it hosted innumerable gatherings and celebrations - Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and many more moments that became lasting traditions. When not in West Vancouver, the family congregated on Lummi Island, where Ollie held court and was always active. Her home was where people came to connect, laugh, eat, and feel looked after.

Despite her small stature, Ollie was known for her firm views and unmistakable strength of character. She was sharp, direct, and memorable - someone whose presence filled a room. She also loved football, and right up to the day she died, she continued to amaze family and friends with her knowledge of the game and her recall of statistics.

Ollie's legacy is the family she helped hold together, the traditions she built, and the warmth she created in a home that felt like everyone's home. She will be remembered with enduring love and gratitude.

A private family service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ollie's name is appreciated.

My sincere condolences to Wendi and all the MacLeod family for saying your final good nights to Ollie. She was such an amazing huge personality in such a petite figure. She was beautiful, a caring mom, granny, spirited and I liked the way she spoke her mind. I remember visiting and she would take of you, offer you food, wine, and if you said No thank you....well that wasn't going to do with her- lol. A long life well enjoyed and loved, dance with Ray in the heavens now. xox
