Randy Zimmer Obituary

Randal "Randy" Zimmer, 91, a successful builder and developer of properties, peacefully passed away on November 1, 2008 in Fullerton, California. He was born on January 26, 1917 in Yakima, Washington to Hugo and Berdie Zimmer.
As a young man, he helped his father, a baker, build their beautiful, two story family home on Puget Sound. Randy and his sister Arline started a vegetable juice business at the Pike Place Market in Seattle for several years and delivered juices from Bellingham to Tacoma.
In 1942, Randy met Norma Larsen while skiing at Snoqualmie Pass, WA, teaching her to ski, a sport they shared for most of their lives. Job opportunities took them separately to California and they were married in Pasadena in 1944. Randy worked for the Sid Cook Construction Company, honing the hands-on building skills that would serve him his entire life. While Norma pursued her career as a singer and actress, Randy worked on the construction of the Kratka Ridge Ski Area and built their home in Flintridge, California.
In the late '50's Randy built Park La Habra Mobil Homes in Orange County, California. Randy continued his association with the manufactured homes industry with the EPM Zimmer Co. Randy and Norma moved to Park City, UT in the late 80's and skied together for over 15 more years. During this time they enjoyed working at their ranch in the Merino Valley, California area.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; their sons, Ron and Mark; Ron's wife, Candi; grandchildren, Kristen, Amanda and her husband, Mike Warren, Andrew and his wife Ashley, and great grandchildren, Renee and Kylee Warren.
A visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Brea, CA from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday, November 7, 2008.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Memory Garden Memorial Park, Brea, CA with graveside service following. Donations in leu of flowers can be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
