Raymond MacLeod Obituary

MacLeod, Raymond (Ray/Papa) June 24, 1933 – June 20, 2016 It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Raymond MacLeod announce his peaceful passing on the evening of summer solstice, June 20, 2016, at the age of 82. Ray leaves a strong and loving family, rivaled only by his legacy. The true patriarch of his clan, Ray was father to four wonderful children, Michael, Wendi, Marshall, and Matthew, with his wife and life partner, Ollie (Granny), and is survived by three full generations. Ray (Papa) will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his affinity for the finer things in life, his dedication to his trade (law) and his family. Ray's loyalty to his lineage and friends was unwavering and constant. The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Gate Hospital for their kindness and support toward Papa. A service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony's Church, 2337 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver. To honour Ray, any donation may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in his name.

Dear Ollie-

I have the fondest memories of you and Ray! When I think of you two, it's warmth, fun and laughter the first come to mind. Having lost my Papa early on, Ray being his best friend and being in my life was a gift from God. Love you so much!

Dear Ollie and Family, The entire Clan MacLeod have lost a wonderful person. We will miss his presence, wit and wisdom from a splendid career. He exemplified the role model, not only for a family but also for all the Clan that had the chance to cross paths with him. We express our sincerest condolences and hope the family cherishes all the wonderful memories. Hold Fast the Light, from Dr. Don McLeod and Christine on behalf of world wide Clan MacLeod

Thoughts are with all of the MacLeod Clan at this time. Ray was a coach and mentor to many of us at Vancouver College and later at U.B.C. It was even more special to have had the opportunity to play with Mike and Marshall both at College and U.B.C. and the friendship with them and connection with the entire family was special for the MacKinnons. A great family and a great man and coach. Your wonderful memories will help carry you all through the loss. Regards, Hugh and Kathie MacKinnon (Comox, B.C.)

Ollie and family. My deepest condolences. As I mentioned on the phone, Ray and I had so many common connections, including each being proud MacLeods, each being lawyers and having deep connections with 4 children each and multiple grandchildren. As I mentioned, due to my own health issues, I will be unable to attend the service, but my thoughts will be there with you and your family.
