Robert Miller Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, pop, uncle, and friend.
Bob was born in Red Deer, Alberta, on March 26, 1953, to parents Art and Joan Miller. The family spent time in Kamloops before settling in West Vancouver. His childhood was filled with summer adventures at their cottage on Keats Island, where he loved fishing, swimming, and boating.
Bob met his high school sweetheart, Sandy (Lyttle), at Sentinel Secondary School, and their true love story began. As teenagers, they enjoyed time with good friends and family, building a foundation for a lifetime together.
Bob spent his career with Electrolux Canada, where he excelled in sales. Not quite ready for retirement, he later worked part-time at The Irly Bird Building Centre on Bowen Island, where he met many new and treasured friends.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy; his children, Amy (Mike) Danks, Brooke Miller, and Joe (Lauran) Miller; and his adored grandchildren, whom he loved immensely: Alex, Sadie, Millie, Kayden, Avery, Ronan, and George. Bob will also be remembered by his best friend George, Kathie, Barb, and John, as well as several special nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Bill, Brian, and Kathy.
Bob was a devoted father who spent many summers on Bowen Island before making it his permanent home. One of his greatest joys was creating special memories with his grandchildren. Together, they spent countless hours crabbing, shiner fishing, tending bonfires, cheering on the Canucks, playing cards on the deck, and enjoying afternoon boat cruises.
Our family is forever grateful for the doctors, nurses, and care teams at the Transplant Clinic and Palliative Care at Lions Gate Hospital, as well as BC Ambulance and Bowen Island Fire Dept. We would also like to thank Jane, Kelly, and North Shore Home Support for their support and care, which allowed us to care for Bob at home on Bowen Island for as long as possible.
By Bob's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Transplant Clinic https://www.odtrf.org/

Uncle Bob,

When I think of you and my memories of our times together I think of a man who loved his family dearly, and though we didn't see each other that often over the last years I consider you to be a great influence in my appreciation of putting family first.

You will be greatly missed, until we meet again!

Love
Greg

My pop filled my childhood with core memories that I will forever cherish, whether we were at the dock fishing for shiners, on the boat, driving around Bowen while he patiently taught me how to drive, the time we spent together was always to special. I love you to the moon and back pop
