BRAWN: Stephanie Margaret
Born in Ottawa, passed away on September 2nd, 2024, in North Vancouver.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved aunt, cousin, and friend.
Predeceased by her father, Jack, in 2004; brother, Doug, in 2005; mother, Margot, in 2006.
Stephanie is survived by her niece Jennifer and nephew Geoffrey (Kelly).
A graduate of UBC and the University of Alberta and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Stephanie was a pioneer in dental hygiene, becoming a dental hygienist and an instructor in the discipline. She often lamented that she had been born at the wrong time, as being a dentist wasn't readily available to women. In true form, she embraced her career wholeheartedly and would hand out toothbrushes at Hallowe'en instead of candy!
Passionate about nature and the outdoors, she often found her curiosity taking her on adventures and hiking trips - frequently heading off to her favourite places like Hawaii, Lake O'Hara, Coral Beach and, of course, Lynn Canyon.
Coming from a long line of tennis players, she had a natural talent for the game and has been a longstanding member of the Jericho Tennis Club. After several injuries, her tennis racquet was retired, and genealogy took its place. Her newfound hobby connected her to distant relatives all over the world and found herself growing closer to the ones she had known for years.
She had the gift of gab, telling stories and making friends wherever she went. She loved the North Shore, her community in Lynn Valley, and particularly her wonderful neighbours Danielle, Sam, Avery, Marielle, Kate, Chris, Morgan and Finley, to whom we owe much gratitude for their love and support.
To the Lions Gate Hospital doctors, nursing staff and therapists, we are indebted for the care and encouragement you offered to Stephanie. You are the unsung heroes.
A celebration of life will take place Sunday, December 29th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Jericho Tennis Club, 3837 Point Grey Rd., Vancouver, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lions Gate Hospital, or a
Charity of Your Choice.
