Steve was a great person. He gave me a job straight out of high school in 1975 and I stayed there for 4 years. Steve taught me many things especially great work ethics. He was more than a boss, he was a good friend. I have many great memories working at Elmec. RIP

I started working for Steve in the mid 1980's at Elmec on the construction of the Whistler Convention Centre lights. He gave me a start when it was hard to find a technical job as a young grad with no experience. While he could be a dificult boss to work for at times he was also generous, and I took away some connections and a work ethic that still drives me today. RIP Steve.

I did not know Steve well but lived in the same apartment building as him and would see him frequently as we made our way to the parking lot to go to work in the mornings, and then when he retired, I would see him on his way to the pool. I thought he was a lovely, courteous gentleman with a warm heart and a fine sense of humour. I am so sorry he is no longer with us and send my condolences to his family. I will miss our brief, but always welcome, exchanges.

Steve, you were one of a kind. The one who gave me my first job in Engineering at Aco in Nvn. Fond memories of the classic tea time in the afternoons with Dorothy pouring the tea for everyone in the department and Steve getting the bottle of spirits (just a drop) to make the rest of the day interesting. His favorite saying that I remember "We will be watching your future with great interest". And he always did, keeping in touch and never too busy to have time to talk behind the big desk on Crown Street.

Steve was my first boss when I moved to North Vancouver in 1979 at ACO. Steve was a perfectionist and he taught me well. One time when a letter I had typed for him was slightly off center and I told I had to redo it.. he said it was fine, I said no, it can't go out like that. He taps himself on the forehead and says: "I created a monster." He was an excellent boss and always took care of the people that worked for him. RIP Steve. xo

Steve was my first boss when I moved to North Vancouver in 1979 at ACO Sales & Engineering .. it was a great place to work with wonderful people. Steve was a perfectionist and he taught me to be the same ... one time when a letter wasn't quite centered I said I had to re-do it and he just shook his head and said: ".. I created a monster." You'll be missed Steve. xoxo

I worked for Steve for 5 years and owe him a big debt of gratitude for all that he taught me. He was one of the biggest influences in my life. He helped so many of us in the start of our careers and took joy in knowing he was a stepping stone to our futures. I will never forget him. RIP & Thank You.
