Stephen Smith Obituary

Steve passed away on July 19, 2014 at North Shore Hospice. He was surrounded with the love, compassion and support of family, friends and co-workers during the past 8 months. He was a long time employee at Capilano University and previously at Island Paper Mills.

An avid mountain biker he particularly enjoyed the North Shore trails and Whistler. He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen Cosgrove, daughter Joanna Smith (Ryan); his parents David and Julie Smith, brother Daniel (Gail); sister Melanie Burkholder (David); and his many family members and friends. Our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Walker and the Nurses at Lions Gate Palliative Care Ward and the North Shore Hospice for their compassionate care, and their gift to us of a gentle environment in which to say goodbye.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Aug. 16, 2014 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at The View on Lonsdale, 2121 Lonsdale Ave. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to North Shore Hospice or brain tumor research.
