BLESSING, Trude
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Trude Blessing, Beloved wife, Mama, Mutti, Oma and Uroma. She went into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on February 22, 2025 at the age of 85.
Trude was born in Esslingen, Germany where she worked in the family bakery and store until her marriage to the love of her life Gunther in 1963. She played the piano, studied music, and had an incredible operatic voice, but chose to forgo a singing career and raised a family instead.
In 1980 they immigrated to Canada and moved to West Vancouver with their three children. Trude was an incredible cook and baker and was known for her Christmas cookies and Stollen. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and most recently her great-grandson. Trude and Gunther travelled extensively and made friends all over the world.
Trude was predeceased by her husband Gunther. She leaves behind her three children, Christine (Michael), Isabel (Lance) and Stefen (Susan); eight grandchildren, Dominic (Melissa), Joelle (Shawn), Darian, Shelby, Brendan, Hayley, Sarah and Markus; and great-grandson Austin. She also leaves behind her sisters Doris (Gotthard) and Margarete in Germany.
Trude was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother and was a truly selfless person, welcoming visitors to her home for many years. To her family she was known as the prayer warrior and the loving matriarch of the family.
She will be deeply missed.
