Victor French Obituary

This summer we lost our Pops and thought it fitting to remember him on this Remembrance Day weekend, a time that was so important to him, as he was to us.

Missing him are his son Russ, daughter in law Margo, two grandchildren Erin (Darrin) and Jeff (Bryn) and 3 great-grandchildren (Madison, Andrew and soon to arrive baby French). He lost the love of his life Margaret Wallace, our Grandma in 1998. He is also predeceased by his sister Olive and his two brothers, Cyril and Ronald both of whom, like Pops, also served bravely in World War II.

Pops was born in Saskatoon to John and Ruby French, and often talked about his memories growing up on the prairies. Pops enlisted for the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 16. He was originally turned away due to his age, but as we know with our Pops, he gets what he wants and found an alternate way in. Pops was proudly involved in the D-Day landings and continued to serve his country throughout the remainder of the war in Europe.

On this Remembrance Day, and those to come, we remember you Pops for the sacrifice you were willing to make and for taking care of your family. Those that loved you were lucky to see the love and kindness you had in your heart. Madi and Andrew ran to you to see what candies you had brought in your pockets.

Special thanks to Dr. Leon Bard for continuing to care for our family. A celebration of Pops and his life is being planned.

For those that post condolences ...no disrespect , fans of Little House on the Prairie. The man being praised for his talents ...look for
"Victor Edwin French."The gentleman honored here is also confused with the producer of the show , Kent McCray . I am certain that loved ones now and in the future won´t have to read the guest book with constant confusion . The actor did not have any images of himself released while suffering from cancer. He was 54 years old. Victor E. Died in 1989.
This dear gentleman was 90 years old passed in 2014 and fans think this is also Kent McCray. Resemblance yes, but the photo is Victor A French ... rip . Totally separate . He had no relation to NBC nor 54 years old. Just trying to help .
