Walter Peake Obituary
Steve passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on January 5th, 2026, at the age of 83, twenty-five years after the death of his beloved wife, Beth. He was born on January 21st, 1942, in Vancouver to Willoughby (Bill) and Gladys. He lived most of his life in West Vancouver, where he went to school, married, raised his family, and co-owned and operated Peake and Richmond Ltd. Steve was a great man, full of humour, compassion, and joy.
He retired to his favourite place, Qualicum Bay, in 2003, where he lived on the beach and spent his time with family, friends, his dogs, playing golf, and for the last 15 years creating a life with his loving wife, Bonny Duncan. He is predeceased by his wife, Beth; and is survived by his three children, Jennifer (Paul), Allison (Mark), and Christopher (Chloe); his five grandchildren, Novie, Fionn, Mo, Fischer, and Violet; and his wife, Bonny Duncan. We would like to thank the Oceanside Palliative Care team and the many care aides for their compassionate end-of-life care.
A celebration of life will be held on March 6th, 1-4pm at Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club in Qualicum Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local food bank.
