Walter WANSON Obituary

At the age of 86, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2010 in his beloved North Vancouver community.

He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is survived by his wife of 21 years Halina, his sister Nettie, his daughters Geraldine, Barbara, Carolyn, his son Russell, and his 15 grandchildren.

Walter volunteered in 1942 at the age of 18 and served as Flight Officer with R.C.A.F. until 1945. After the war he became a Civil Engineer with the Federal Government Department of Transportation working at various locations within Canada.

In 1969 he settled with his family in Lynn Valley where he retired. Wally's interests led him to finish a BCIT diploma course which subsequently led to an enjoyable new career with the Tourism & Hospitality Industry.

Wally is deeply missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.

Celebration of his life will be held at a later announced date. His family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the fine doctors and caring staff at 7 West and the North Shore Hospice of Lions Gate Hospital.
