William SCHOFIELD Obituary
SCHOFIELD, William (Bill)
William (Bill) Schofield was born on October 8, 1960 and on March 29, 2024 took his last breath and succumbed to cancer, which took him all too soon from us. He passed away peacefully, with his wife, his children and his brother by his side.
Bill was born in Haney BC and moved with his family to the North Shore in his younger years. He went to school in the North Shore, and was very active in sports throughout his youth and early 20's. He eventually moved to Chilliwack in the late 90's. Bill loved the outdoors and spent many years on the rivers and lakes in BC, hunting, fishing and camping. His working career saw him working at Hells Gate in his teens, logging up North in his 20's and then sales ending in the RV Industry in 2020.
His other interests included spending years on the sport sidelines (not always quiet) when his children played. His love for sports and competition lives through them. Travel was a big part of who Bill was and last year, he and Brenda were able to take the long awaited Alaskan Cruise for their 25th Anniversary.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda, his son Christian (Annemae) and daughter Sydneigh. Along with his sister JoAnne (Norm) Gallicano, brother Jim (Jenifor Bevans) Schofield, brother Dave (Cheryl) Schofield, sister Gina Schofield, Mark Hohenwater, brother in law Wes (Lori) Goertzen, and sister in law Denise (Alvin) Warkentin. His many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, on both sides loved their Uncle Billy/Buddy as well. He loved being with them and sharing his life adventures with them.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William (Bill) and Alice (Betty) Schofield and his nephew Peter da Silva.
The family would like to thank all who were involved in Bill's cancer fight these last 11 weeks. The teams at the Chilliwack Hospital, the Abbotsford Palliative Care and the incredible team at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack. A deep thank you to Dr. Ashley Epp, her compassion and care made not only Bill's time here that much better, but her caring for our family was amazing.
