Anna Almasch Obituary

Almasch, Anna : April 18, 1936 - September 21, 2025 With heavy hearts, we share that our mother, Anna Almasch, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on September 21, 2025. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with our Dad, her cherished husband John, whom she missed dearly. Anna was born in Erdevic, Yugoslavia, on April 18, 1936. In 1953, she emigrated to Canada with her parents and sisters, beginning a new chapter in a country she and our Dad truly loved. She made Penticton her home for most of her life, working in Housekeeping at Penticton Hospital, where her dedication and kindness touched many. Anna found joy in the simple pleasures: tending to her garden with Dad, harvesting bountiful vegetables each summer. She was an amazing baker and nothing could compare to her cookies and cakes. In retirement, she and Dad embraced life in their RV, visiting casinos or just puttering around home. She is predeceased by her loving husband John, her sister Theresia and brother-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Rosalia and brother-in-law Adam. Anna leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her daughters, Margit (Scott), Anne-Marie (Phil), Sharon (TJ), and Jackie; her sisters, Martha (Don) and Katherine; her grandchildren, Kevan (Alena) and Kelsey (Graeme); and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside our Dad, John.
