Bazzana, Arturo: Oct. 19, 1929 - Sept. 26, 2025 It is with great love and a heavy heart our family announces the passing of my dad, Arturo Bazzana on the morning of Sept. 26, 2025 at Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 95 3/4 years old. Dad was predeceased by his wife Dosolina of 69 years and his eldest daughter Loretta. He is survived by his daughter Diana Rains (Dale), son-in-law Keith Stutters plus five grandchildren Lisa Schneider (Jordon), Cam Stutters (Leigh), Shawna Whiting (Jonathan), Alicia Jeffery (Jamie) and Kyle Bryan (Emily). Dad also had ten great, grandchildren. A special mention to cousin Mary who always seems to navigate us through these waters when things become to much. At the age of 22 dad came to Canada by boat from Italy to build a new life in Prince Rupert. His sweetheart was back in Italy and in time made arrangements for her to join him in Canada. Mom arrived in Halifax by boat in February 1954 and were married on March 18, 1954 in Prince Rupert. They built their life together and started a family, with a community of Italian family and friends. In 1971 they moved to the warm Okanagan and bought their house in the Glenmore area. Dad got a job at Hiram Walkers Distillery in Winfield and retired after 22 years. Dad was well known in his neighborhood for his talent in creating the best red wine. Dad's cantina was always stocked. Today, stories are still circulating about that room. Their doors were always open for family and friends to stop by. Mom would always have plenty of her Italian food on the table, dad would have his wine. Words that described my dad by others "loyal, dedicated, thankful, respect, polite, and caring" Until his last breath he continued to express gratitude to everyone. Now dad is at peace with my mom. His legacy will continue through the grandchildren and their children. Special thank you to the staff and residents at Chatsworth Chartwell. Dad always expressed how he loved it there and how they gave him comfort after mom's passing. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Church, 1346 Gordon Drive on Wednesday Oct. 15, 2025 at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank the Doctor's, Nurses and Naomi who looked after dad in the emergency department. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at
