SVEISTRUP, Aussie: 1945 - 2025 The family of Asmundar "Aussie" Ingvar Sveistrup of Summerland, BC, is saddened to announce his passing. Aussie passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 80 years. Aussie will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Dianne; children, Tiffany Zral (Wayne) of Summerland, Marie Brevik (Brad Sjoberg) of West Kelowna, Ron Brevik of Edmonton, AB and step-daughter, Corrine (Tom) Callahan of Youbou, BC; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wendy (Jim) Olafson and Jackie (Craig) Taylor all of Surrey. He is sadly predeceased by sister, Olive Helgason, brother, Karl Sveistrup and nephew, Scott Sutherland. Aussie worked for Terasen gas in the meter shop in Penticton until his retirement. He was well known for his sarcastic sense of humour and always had great luck with cards and games. He also curled and played golf for many years. When he wasn't able to play himself, he could be found in front of the TV watching the pros. Aussie will be greatly missed by his devoted wife and partner of almost 50 years, Dianne, who he loved dearly. He had many close friends and a big family that will truly miss his presence.
