My heart is saddened to hear of Axel's passing. My first job with axel was the Frank Conci house in Skaha Estates. More projects would follow with always one constant , true craftsmanship . Whether we were building new or the many renovations he always had good advice. The wonderfull times at his house with Maria and Axel will always be remembered. His artwork was amazing. He always liked to sail and each year we would launch in the spring and pick up in the fall with Axel always trying to interest me to sail. Penticton and area has truly lost a great man, friend and craftsman. My family and I will miss but always remember Axel.

I will miss seeing Axel at the Penticton Art Gallery, where I work. He used to come and see the exhibits, and was so kind and keen to talk about art when he was here. I do hope he will be "painting the sky with all his vivid colours and imagination" as it said in his obituary! Our condolences to his family.

Very sad to here of Axel's passing, I have known Axel for 35 years, doing real estate business and general related advice. He was a true gentleman, the last of Penticton's finest European builders. His many tenants respected his hands on approach and fairness to their many needs. I first meet Axel, when I was an employee at Clark's Building Supplies on Nanaimo St. in l973. Always visiting the store several times a day for supplies for his many jobs, always polite, he would pass on building tips and any other advice on the topics of the day.
