Barbara ASHTON Obituary

ASHTON, Barbara Lee: August 5, 1955 - September 14, 2016. It is with great sadness and grieving that we announce the passing of Barbara at the Kamloops Hospice. She passed away peacefully with dignity and courage, with her family and friends at her side. She was very loving; kind; generous; hard working; stubborn; determined; and met her challenges head on. She owned her own company (Ashton & Associates Recruiting, Inc) and was very successful at what she did. Barb was loved immensely by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving mother Cathy Ashton; brother, John Ashton; uncles John Bentley, Harvey Bentley and aunt Ada Bentley; and many cousins, friends, and business associates. Barb enjoyed many outdoor activities- skiing, fishing, horseback riding, and hiking. Barb donated her time and kind loving spirit within the community from fund raising for breast cancer and the local school where she brightened up their day with her delightful laughter. Special thanks to everyone for your kindness. Special thanks to the staff at RIH and the Marjory Willoughby Snowden Hospice House. We will always love and miss you, Barb. Fly with the angels and let your spirit soar - Mom. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kamloops Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Cr. South Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9. Celebration of Life for Barb will be held in the Tea Room at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Condolences may be emailed to the family from www.kamloopsfuneralhome.com

Absolutely shocked to hear the news if Bar's passing. We met in Grade 8 at Balmoral High School North Van 1968. Years later roommates sharing our very first apartment together. We were wild, crazy and fearless in the day and boy did we gave fun !!! As often happens with time we drifted apart every now and then touching base.
Barb I will always remember you with a mischievous twinkle in your eye and beautiful smile.

My love to Cathy and John.

It was Barbara's birthday today and it popped up on Facebook. Something made me go 'hmmmmm' and I was concerned that I hadn't heard from her in awhile. So, I googled her company and was shocked to read of her death, almost a year ago. I am very sorry to hear of her death. We worked together now and then and I always appreciated her outlook on life. Condolences to the family. May your happy memories help you through days like today.

So Sorry to hear of this !

I worked with Barbara only a short time. Upon meeting her, we connected; I loved her enthusiasm, kindness, great conversation, knowledge and empathy.
A great loss for many, I am certain.
