Brigitte REIMER

REIMER, Brigitte: September 20, 1935 - November 15, 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brigitte on November 15, 2025. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Howard Reimer. She is survived by her children, Douglas, Elizabeth, and Neil; daughters-in-law Barbara and Amy; and grandchildren Kade, James, Heather, Alex, and Anneka. Brigitte lived a full and interesting life, residing in Dutch Guiana (Suriname), Venezuela, the United States, and Canada. After earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond, she immigrated to Canada and completed her teacher training at UBC. Traveling by train to a teaching job in Hamilton, she met her future husband, Howard. They began their life together in Winnipeg, where she earned a master's degree in history, continued her teaching career, and raised their family. The family eventually moved to Kelowna, where Brigitte taught high school English and German, counselled students, and led the debating program. She and Howard were active in their church, Habitat for Humanity, and the Kelowna Chamber Music Society. Brigitte loved music, sports, reading, entertaining, and celebrating her family's achievements. Warm, perceptive, and energetic, she will be deeply missed. A service will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Central Okanagan United Church, 721 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC.
