1948 - 2019

Thomas-Mitchell, Carolyn Marie: July 6, 1948 - December 25, 2018. With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Wife, Nana, and best friend, Carolyn Marie Thomas-Mitchell. Nana is proudly succeeded by her five grandchildren Rowan, Kieran, Torian, Danika and Oliver, her children Lisa (Tim), Mark (Aelish), Jonathon (Ashley) and her loving husband of 27 years, Rick. Carolyn was raised in Kelowna, BC, and graduated from Kelowna Secondary School in 1966, and had a successful career in the real estate industry. She has now joined her loving parents Sig and Kay Thoms. Nana was a prized individual, sought and chased by all her grandchildren. She loved spending her time in the garden, flower patches, bushes, planters, or essentially, anywhere that was green and ready to grow something. Her artistic side was spent creating elaborate quilts and appliqués that she would give to family and friends. Her down time was spent reading and ordering more books to feed her insatiable appetite for reading all up and coming authors as well as the classics. She was an amazing cook and caterer that loved to over-feed all her guests with delicious foods and drinks. She loved time with family and close friends, partaking in a good laugh, or sharing a funny story. Carolyn was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother, but mostly; she was a best friend to all those who knew her. She will be missed by all.
