MOONEY, Craig: 1950 - 2025 In loving memory of Craig Mooney who was born in Chilliwack, December 28, 1950, to Barbara & John Mooney (both deceased). He had 4 brothers, Scott Mooney (Janet deceased), Paul Mooney (Annette Fensom), Dean Mooney (deceased), Lee Mooney (deceased). Craig was supported by his wife Colleen Mooney, daughters Corrie Pero (Mike), Trish Mooney (deceased), Jamie Madeira (Dan), Grand Children Mia Pero, Lincoln Madeira, and Knox Madeira. Craig passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital surrounded by his family. Craig began his working life at the Shopeasy in Penticton and later worked as a hunting guide in Watson Lake. Over the years he held many roles-truck driver, logger, delivery driver, and crew member in highway maintenance and bridge construction-before earning his Red Seal as a heavy-duty mechanic at Afton Mine. When the mine closed, Craig and his wife Colleen relocated to Kelowna after Colleen accepted a transfer with BC Gas. He retired with ICG Propane in 2002. Since 1991 Craig made his home in Glenrosa, where he took great pride in his garden and spent countless hours tinkering in his shop. Craig's favourite pastimes included hunting, fishing, camping with friends and family, and playing crib, activities that brought him joy and many fond memories we're passing on to his grand-children the love of his favourite pastimes... During the last decade Craig faced a number of health obstacles, meeting each challenge with resilience. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, and care-aides on 3 East-especially Andrew-for their compassionate care. Craig will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring of 2026. We love and miss you, Craig. In lieu of flowers; please donate to the SPCA in honour of Craig.
