Doris Marie Ricard

Ricard, Doris Marie: September 25, 1942 - September 8, 2025 Our beloved Mother, Grandma and Meme, Doris Ricard, died on September 8, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 82. Doris was born in New Westminster, BC then, shortly after, moved to Kersley and eventually moving back to the French community of Maillardville in Coquitlam. Doris completed her teaching degree and taught elementary school for 2 years in Port Coquitlam. Doris was married 57 years to her soulmate, Art, who preceded her in death. In Port Coquitlam, they raised 2 sons, Kevin and Dan, in a happy fun-loving home. In their later years they moved to Penticton. As a Grandma to Darcy, Melisa, Mitch, McKenzie and Ty, "Fun Grandma," taking the kids on exciting vacations, camping, fishing trips and generally spoiling them rotten. Bringing happiness in her later years as Meme to Kinley, Rylie and Charlotte. She was the voice of reason in our family. Doris was known for her infectious laugh and kind heart. She was the heart and soul of our family. She will be dearly missed by her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on October 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Penticton. Reception to follow at the Lakeside Resort.
