SCHMIDT, Elsie: In Loving Memory, June 04, 1922 - February 18, 2019. A kind and gentle spirit, two warm and loving hands. God beckoned for you to join Him in a new and wondrous land. You held your dreams close to your heart knowing that Kelowna was the place for a fresh new start. With husband, son and mother by your side, you left the land of Saskatchewan behind and set off on a far and distant ride. You were particularly fond of a Rhode Island Red, your granddaughters' beloved "Ms. Chicky" whom by your loving hands was fed. I'm sure Ms. Chicky knew that she was safe with you, there was nothing to fear. Ms Chicky would roam around the yard while you were near. Your radiant and gracious smile is a picture framed within my heart. I can only be grateful for all the love and kindness you bestowed upon me right from the start. Farewell my dear and beloved mother-in-law, I know that I will gaze upon your face again one day in that glorious and wondrous land that you now stay. - daughter-in-law Violet Schmidt & Family. Elsie is predeceased by her husband Herman of 76 years. She is survived by her daughter, son, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Elsie passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 96. Many thanks to the private care aides that lovingly cared for Elsie. These include Desrie, Cheri, Leanne and Susan.
