Erma VanDusen Obituary

VanDusen, Erma: Erma VanDusen was born to Albert and Antonia Schneider on March 14, 1933. She was born the second of four children and grew up in Abbotsford B.C. Her older brother Albert and youngest sister Doris pre-deceased her and she is survived by her younger sister Mary. Erma met a young police officer by the name of Harold VanDusen, affectionately known as Van. Van and Erma married in 1951 and lived in various areas of British Columbia. Erma enjoyed a successful career working with the Ministry of Agriculture until her retirement. Erma and Van moved to Summerland BC to enjoy their retirement in the sun and warm water of the Okanagan where she enjoyed gardening around their home. In 2016, the love of Erma's life, Van, passed away after 65 years of marriage. Erma moved into Summerland Seniors Village in 2022 where she made several friends and spent her time playing bridge with other residents. On April 18, 2025, she passed away peacefully. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sister Mary, nephews Travis (Yasmin), Desi (Melanie), Dan, Mark, and David and all of her many friends.
