Ingleby, Gerald Ian: May 6, 1934- January 30, 2025 Gerald Ian Ingleby of Penticton, B.C. passed away peacefully on January 30th., 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 6, 1934. Gerry was the beloved husband of Marlene for 65 years. He was a loving parent to Jerri and Art, and a cherished grandparent to Megan and Courtney and a great-grandparent to Myles. Born and raised in Merritt, BC, Gerry spent his childhood skating on Nicola Lake and hunting in the surrounding areas. He began working young at his father's garage, Ingleby Motors, which he later took over. It became a fixture in Merritt for over 50 years. His commitment to the community was evident through his long-term membership with the Rotary Club, where he contributed meaningfully to local efforts. Later moving to Penticton, Gerry embraced new ventures, eventually running a dry-cleaning store for over 20 years until his retirement at 85. Known for his hard work, kindness, and storytelling, Gerry was a longtime Mason and Shriner, dedicated to raising funds for Shriners Hospital. His greatest joy was his 65-year marriage to Marlene, showcasing a love that was quiet yet profound.
