JOHNSON, HARRY: 1927 - 2017. Harry Johnson born at Spilsby, Lincolnshire on 18 June 1927 has passed away after a short illness at Penticton Regional Hospital on 11 Feb 2017. After his 18th birthday Harry joined the Airborne Infantry Regiment of the British Army in the dying days of WWII. He spent his service in Palestine, returning home briefly before immigrating, with his parents and sisters, to Port Arthur, Ontario. He joined the RCMP and spent 25 years and thirteen moves between detachments throughout Northern Ontario and Ottawa. Following his RCMP career he worked another 20 year career with Transport Canada at Ottawa. Upon retirement he and wife Gunny moved to Summerland, BC to be closer to their three children, Beverly (Henk), Brian (Karin) and Bob (Tina). Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gunny, his children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services celebrating Harry's 89 years will be held at St. Stephens Anglican Church in Summerland on 16 Feb 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be shared by visiting
