WALL, Jake: Jake Wall was born October 28, 1925 and passed away on March 5, 2016 at 90 years of age. Jake grew up near Hague Saskatchewan. As a young man he travelled, working at a fishing camp in Red Lake, Ontario and also transporting cars between Detroit and Hague. Later he was part owner of Modern Motors and later Hague Hardware. In 1951 he met and married a young school teacher named Sue Kroeger. She would be the love of his life and they would remain together for the next 65 years. They had three children; Sharon, Dale and Ron. In 1970 Jake and Sue moved to Kelowna where he worked in the automotive business, retiring in 1989. After retiring he and Sue volunteered for two years at the Hopi Mission school in Kykotsmovi, Arizona, where Jake helped maintain the school and Sue taught Grade 1. Through his retirement they travelled, retained a wide circle of friends in Kelowna and each summer and fall hosted a steady stream of family and friends in their Kelowna home. Jake also became a long and loyal member of the Capri Centre coffee group. He is survived by his wife Sue, children Sharon, Dale (Nancy), Ron (Diana), 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Marion, nieces and nephews and also by Sue's family. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna.
