James DELL Obituary
DELL, James Edward "Jim": September 16, 1935 - July 13, 2017. Jim passed away in Penticton, BC at the age of 81 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Terry, stepdaughters Jacquie and Kirsty, four grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, spending his early years on a farm where he developed a love of independence as his siblings were much older than him, before moving to Saskatoon. After a couple of years travelling around the world, he returned to Saskatchewan and got his B.Ed. He taught high school (Industrial Education and Math) for many years, first in Calgary and then in Saskatchewan and BC. The last sixteen years of his life were spent in Penticton. Jim had a keen sense of humour. He was an avid and skilled sailor, sailing to Bella Bella and Haida Gwaii where he taught. He had a very mechanical mind which enabled him to fix or build all manner of things including two houses. The family wishes to thank the staff of Haven Hill Care Centre, particularly the Upper Grape care aides and nurses, for their compassionate care of Jim. A private family celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date.
