WARDROP, John: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, our hero, the man who would drop everything to rescue us no matter what the situation. Dad passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017 at Haven Hill Retirement Center in Penticton at the age of 71 from complications of PSP. John was predeceased by his loving wife Linda Wardrop in 2016, his parents Leslie and Wilda (Hatt); his brothers Leslie Edward, Neil, and Larry; his father in law Edgerton (Bud) Scammell; brothers' in law John Stockley, Tomislav Gagarin; and sister in law Evelyn. Survived by brothers Glen (Christa) Wardrop and Sandy Wardrop and sisters Genevieve Stockley, Marie Gagarin, Joyce (Maurice) Meneray and Diana (Rick) Johnson. John will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Karrie O'Coffey (Timothy O'Coffey) and Shelley Wardrop (Robert Lizotte); mother in law Verna Scammell; grandson Matthew Ireland, granddaughters Krysten O'Coffey (Brian Bourassa) and Jada Catling (Robert Catling); great grandchildren Kayleb vanDyk, Olivia vanDyk, Scarlett vanDyk, Hanna Catling and Mia Catling; and his many friends in Mexico. John had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, golfing and biking. He will be fondly remembered by all who met him for his wry sense of humor. As an avid golfer, he taught all those he played with that there was no such thing as a bad game, just a bad club or an improperly manicured green. John was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he loved his family more than life itself. The family wishes to thank the staff on Upper Peach at Haven Hill Retirement Center for their loving care and all our friends at Burnaby Gardens MHP for all their support during this difficult time.
