Laura JUNIOR Obituary
JUNIOR, Laura (Monea): October 15, 1927 - October 29, 2015. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandmother, and friend, Laura Junior. Laura was born in Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan to Georgina and Roy Monea. She leaves behind her daughter, Sharon (Randy); brother, Ray (Merle); sisters, Helen and Geraldine (Jim); stepchildren, Joan, Dennis, and Harold; grandchildren, John, Clayton (Jessicca), and Jaella; great grandchildren, Joe, Karsten, and Kaycee; and many more grandchildren, step grandchildren, and extended family members and friends. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Joe Junior; stepdaughter, Beatrice; and stepson, Bill. Laura was the "glue" that kept the family together. She was very family orientated and kept in touch with everyone. She loved to play cards and scrabble with her friends at the Senior Centre. Laura's faith was a big part of her life. Her strength and caring will be forever remembered by those whose lives she touched - a legacy to be honoured and carried on by those she leaves behind. The family would like to extend special thanks Patti and Leo Mellom, her step granddaughter, for leaving Saskatchewan and rushing to BC to be with Laura. She loved their dog, Molly who often came to visit during her time in the hospital. Thank you also goes out to Laura's niece, Karon Erickson, for all her help during her illness. A Celebration of Life will be held in Laura's honour in Kelowna, BC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please considering honouring Laura's memory by making a donation in her name to the SPCA, PO Box 1407, Parksville, BC V9P 2H3.
