McElroy, Leigh: Sep 10, 1943 - Feb 17, 2017. It is with saddened hearts that the family of Mr. Leigh McElroy announce that he has gone to be with his wife and best friend, Jan. Early on the morning of February 17, 2017, Leigh passed away quietly in his sleep after a sudden illness brought on by a weakened immune system. The family will be having a small private gathering to celebrate Leigh's life. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation. Donations can be made online at the http://bccancerfoundation.com. Leigh's family would like to thank all of the caring nurses and doctors at the Penticton Regional Hospital that have taken care of Leigh over the years. They would also like to thank his special friends at the Main Street A&W, where he was always welcomed warmly when he went there to eat.
