Lily BLACKMAN Obituary
BLACKMAN, Lily (nee Redlich) October 8, 1940 - November 4, 2013 Lily Blackman of Valemount, BC, formerly of Kelowna, BC, passed away suddenly while in Kamloops. She is predeceased by her parents, Herman and Susanna Redlich; brother, Jerry Redlich; and sister-in-law, Tina Redlich. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Francis Blackman, four brothers: Albert, George (Glenna), Hank (Linda), Bill (Jan); four sisters: Ellie Giesbrecht (Abe), Ruth Welder, Agnes Stuerle (Hugo), Edie Hagen (Glenn); and sister-in-law Lillian Redlich. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces as well as many friends. Lily graduated from KSS in 1958, then worked at S & K Plywood before leaving there to assist in her husband's business, Andy's Wheel and Frame. She took a Business Admin Course at OK College and worked for several years at the Kelowna Credit Bureau. In 1977 Francis sold his business and shortly after, they moved to the Valemount area where they have enjoyed living in a peaceful country setting. Lily was plagued by ill health in recent years but always maintained her generous spirit and was always the first one to step forward if someone needed a helping hand. She will be sorely missed. There will be a memorial service next spring.
